36 All-in-One PCs in comparison: What can compact computers do better than a PC or laptop? Which are good?

You are watching : Best budget all in one computer

When choosing an all-in-one PC, what matters most is the intended use: In As a rule, it should offer enough performance for office applications and be fast on the Internet. In addition, there are also tasks that require a little more performance. The performance should also be sufficient for simple image editing and perhaps also allow occasional gaming.

We have looked at the most important all-in-one PCs for you. Here are our recommendations in a nutshell.

Brief overview: Our recommendations

Our favorite

Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3 Gen 6

Test All-in-One PC: Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3

Show all prices

The Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3 brings not only a modern design into play, but also the latest hardware from AMD. The latter ensures decent performance, which this all-in-one PC also benefits from. The frameless design and the simple base ensure that the IdeaCentre AIO 3 blends in well with any environment. A practical shelf is also integrated into the base.

Inside, modern technology from AMD works, which not only copes well with office and internet tasks. There is enough power for image editing as well as for smaller games. A neat guide on the base also prevents the connections to the numerous connections from ending up in a tangle of cables.

That’s good too

Acer Aspire C24-1650

Test All-in-One PC: Acer Aspire C24-1650

Show all prices

The Acer Aspire C24-1650 is in the same price range like our favorite. It compensates for the slightly lower performance and the missing optical drive with an SSD that is twice as large for more storage space. The design is sleeker and it’s a few inches smaller, although it also has a 23.8-inch screen. This means that it also fits on smaller desks.

In this all-in-one from Acer, modern laptop technology ensures quiet and smooth operation. The eleventh generation Intel Core i5 processor is particularly energy-efficient, but still offers enough power for most applications. From Office programs to Internet and video streaming to simple image editing, users are prepared for everything. Only modern 3D games have to be left out here. The integrated Iris Xe Graphics G7 graphics unit is at best suitable for simple games or old titles. If you don’t gamble much anyway, the Acer Aspire C24-1650 is a good alternative to our favorite.

For Apple fans

Apple iMac 2021 (24-inch)

All-in-One PC Test: Apple iMac 2021 (24-inch)

Show all prices

With the 24-inch model of the new iMac 2021 says goodbye Apple from the old gray design and launches a completely new look. The new Apple iMac 2021 is not only available in different colors, it is also amazingly flat. The excellent display offers rich colors and a very high resolution.

The heart of the matter, however, is Apple’s own processor, the M1 chip. It is available in two versions for the iMac, which differ in terms of graphics performance. Apple is also a bit stingy when it comes to storage and demands hefty surcharges if it is to be more than standard. At least the keyboard and mouse are supplied in matching colors.

Good & cheap

HP 22-df0004ng

Test All-in-One-PC: HP 22- df0004ng

Show all prices

For those who really only do office work and want to surf the Internet from time to time , can save even more money with the HP 22-df0004ng. The simple, modern design fits on any desk and thanks to the included input devices, integrated speakers and webcam, you don’t need to buy any extras to get started.

The technology inside comes from AMD and is also based on hardware that used in notebooks. As a result, the HP All-in-One is energy-saving, but also offers enough performance. Thanks to a small SSD for the operating system, the computer starts up quickly. A second, large hard drive offers enough space for installed programs and saved data. The processor and the integrated graphics card effortlessly handle common office applications and simple image processing – Internet services and video streaming are also possible. However, the computing power is not sufficient for games, so there is room for a DVD drive in the case.

A few years ago, bulky towers had to be set up under the desk and connected to the associated components with lots of cables, but today there are countless all-in-one PCs. The complete systems accommodate all components in the housing of the monitor, sometimes also in its base. The mouse and keyboard are included and, ideally, are reliably connected to the computer via radio. Ultimately, only one cable is needed to supply the PC with power.

All-in-One-PC Test: All In One Pc

In addition, touchscreens are no longer uncommon, even on all-in-one PCs with very large screens. In order to keep track of this, it is important to clarify what you expect from a computer system.

How much power is required?< /h2>

With the abundance of offers, it is often difficult to assess which system offers enough performance for your own requirements. The essential applications that a PC should run reliably are Internet browsers and Office programs such as Word, Excel and Power Point. In addition, the PC is becoming the media center for more and more people, so that video streaming, for example via YouTube or Netflix, and editing photos also play an important role.

Not only the latest Intel or AMD processors are sufficient for such scenarios, older hardware can also cope with office and online activities. For a smooth system operation, you should pay attention to a sufficiently high working memory and a fast hard disk. Systems with an SSD have a clear advantage here, as they can access data at higher speeds than conventional hard drives. These are in turn referred to as HDDs and offer slower write and read rates, but are usually cheaper and have more storage space. The working memory is eight gigabytes in all of our recommendations – this is sufficient for optimal operation of Windows 10 and there are still some reserves left.

If you want to gamble, is not in good hands with all-in-one PCs

Anyone who would like to gamble a lot and persistently on the computer is not in good hands with all-in-one PCs. Similar to notebooks, the compact design of the systems only allows for a limited amount of powerful hardware. However, current high-end graphics cards require a lot of space and a sophisticated cooling system, which drives up the price significantly. However, our favorite, the Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3, can also be used to play less demanding, modern titles on low settings. Even higher resolutions are possible for older games.

All-in-One-PC Test: Lenovo Ideacentre Aio 3 Gen 6 Front

Our favourite: Lenovo Idea Centre AIO 3

The Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3 convinces with a balanced performance in all areas. The performance is sufficient for office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as for image processing and internet streaming. There are also reserves for occasional, smaller video games.

Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3 All-in-One PC Review

    Show all prices

Thanks to its rather simple, but still modern design, the IdeaCentre AIO 3 in any environment. Since the technology is located behind the display, there is no need for a thick base, which takes up a lot of space on the desk. If you want, you can also connect almost any accessory wirelessly to the all-in-one, so that only one power cable leads to the PC. However, this comes from a small power supply that you have to hide under the table.

Almost everything can be connected wirelessly

Input devices can also be connected to the AIO 3 via Bluetooth or wireless USB dongles, and wireless communication with printers, smartphones and the Internet is possible via Bluetooth and WLAN. However, since not everything can always be connected without cables, the IdeaCentre also offers connections for a second monitor, USB devices and GigabitLAN.

All-in-One-PC review: Lenovo Ideacentre Aio 3 Gen 6 tilt function
Lenovo Ideacentre Aio 3 Gen 6 All-in-One PC Review Right Side

In the model presented here, a current AMD Ryzen 5 5500U with an integrated RX Vega 7 graphics unit ensures decent everyday performance. In conjunction with 16 gigabytes of RAM and a 512 gigabyte SSD, this offers very smooth operation in everyday life. This means that office applications and image processing are no problem, and the IdeaCentre AIO 3 from Lenovo can even handle simple games. However, you should be careful with the latest blockbuster games with complex 3D graphics, as only very low graphics levels are possible here.

    Housing and connections

The Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3 is about 54 centimeters wide and almost 43 centimeters high. It is only a few centimeters lower than the previous version. It is therefore not too big for small desks or work corners and can be easily accommodated even when space is limited. However, the base has become a bit more massive compared to the previous model. So that not too much storage space is lost, it has an indentation that is ideal for storing smartphones or writing utensils. Cables that are no longer absolutely necessary free up additional space on the table.

Thanks to the frameless design, no space is wasted on the overhanging edge and the maximum display area is used. However, there is still a webcam in the frame above the display, which can be extended if necessary. So if the webcam is not needed, you don’t have to feel like you’re being watched.

On the back of the all-in-one PC from Lenovo there are all connections with which devices such as printers, scanners, mice and keyboards can also be connected by cable. Underneath are two ports for USB 3.2 Type-A, two USB 2.0, one HDMI port for a second screen, Gigabit LAN and a 3.5mm headset port. However, we miss an SD card reader and USB-C port.

    Masked camera lenses are history

There is something a little more elegant the placement of the DVD burner succeeded. This is also located behind the screen and can be felt from the side. CDs and DVDs can be easily removed and inserted via the slot.

    Lots of power, good performance

In the equipment variant recommended here, a current AMD Ryzen 5-5500U processor works, whose six cores work with a clock rate of 2.1 gigahertz. The turbo clock is even 4 gigahertz, but cannot be maintained over a longer period of time. The performance is sufficient for many modern applications, whereby the Ryzen 5 processor shines with good energy efficiency.

A Radeon RX Vega 7 is also integrated into the processor. This graphics unit shares the main memory with the processor and is therefore faster the higher the main memory is. It can easily play videos in 4K and relieves the Ryzen 5 of its work. The power consumption is also low.

The internal graphics unit is only suitable to a limited extent for demanding 3D applications. Image editing is possible, for example, and even creating videos is no problem with a little patience. However, the Radeon RX Vega 7 is not well suited for modern games; at best, low graphics levels are possible here. But if you’re dealing with pixel graphics or older games, this is enough.

In addition to the fast processor, the Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3 benefits also from the built-in hard drive. An SSD is used here, which offers enough space for storing your own files with 512 gigabytes. It also accesses data insanely fast, which means there is practically no waiting time when browsing through folders. In addition, the operating system starts quickly and installed programs also benefit from this type of mass storage.

If you want to upgrade your PC later, you will need to have special knowledge of the AIO 3. The case cannot be opened easily, which means that maintenance work is only possible with great effort.

Screen, input devices and optical drive

Of course, an all-in-one PC also includes the display. Not much has changed compared to our former favourite, but this is to be understood positively. The screen of the Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3 is 23.8 inches, which corresponds to a screen diagonal of 60.5 centimeters. The resolution is 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and is therefore suitable for FullHD content. The matte display also consists of a high-contrast and colorful IPS panel, which means that content comes across as very high-contrast. In addition, the brightness is very good, so that everything can be seen well even in brightly lit rooms.

    Sufficient for most requirements

< p>In the laptop sector, Lenovo is known for its good input devices. However, the supplied keyboard of the IdeaCentre does not quite reach the high quality of the in-house notebooks. Nevertheless, it is well suited for longer typing work and is sufficient for the needs of most users. The same applies to the mouse, which is also suitable for most purposes.

All-in-One-PC Review: Lenovo Ideacentre Aio 3 Gen 6

Another trend that is spilling over from the notebook sector to all-in-one PCs is the abandonment of optical drives. However, the IdeaCentre AIO 3 remains classic here and integrates the DVD burner into the case. This applies to the equipment variant presented here, but the Lenovo all-in-one is also available without an optical drive.

The speakers are also integrated and are covered by a continuous decorative strip under the screen. The sound is sufficient for the occasional playback of media content and can definitely replace simple speakers. Depending on the requirements, however, headphones or higher-quality external output devices may be recommended.

    Many variants

Lenovo offers the IdeaCentre also with a larger screen and allows for a variety of hardware options. The performance can be higher or lower compared to the model presented here, and even a touchscreen is possible. You can also choose between other AMD or Intel processors.

    Price and performance may vary

In addition to the IdeaCentre AIO 3 series, Lenovo also offers a more powerful series called the AIO 5. This offers greater power reserves and the option of dedicated graphics cards. So if you need more power, you’ve come to the right place. We have listed a good configuration of the AIO 5 in the “What else is there?” section.

Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3 in the test mirror

Tests on current all-in-one PCs are currently few and far between. This new edition of the Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3 with the latest hardware has also not been available in stores for long. Nevertheless, the equipment and overall concept convince us. If reviews are published in the future, we will list them here.

    Alternatives

The abundance of All-in-one devices has increased significantly in recent years. There are devices available for almost every requirement and in every price range that do more or less well. We are therefore based on our favorite and present the following alternatives.

    Good alternative: Acer Aspire C24-1650

The Acer Aspire C24-1650 is in a similar price segment as our favorite. It also has a 23.8-inch display, but it’s a few centimeters smaller overall. The performance is a bit lower and there is no optical drive. The 1 TB SSD is twice as big.

    Also good

Acer relies on an eleventh generation Intel Core i5 processor, which can access 16 gigabytes of RAM for its work. You don’t have to do without a fast SSD either, which is very generous with 1 terabyte and offers enough space for files of all kinds. Similar to our favorite Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3, Acer’s all-in-one only has the CPU’s internal Iris Xe Graphics G7 graphics unit, which means that only simple or older Games can be displayed. The performance is always sufficient for office programs, surfing the Internet, video and music streaming or simple image editing.

With Bluetooth 5.0 and fast WLAN, the wireless connection options are on a par with our favourite. However, when it comes to connectivity, Acer goes a little further and also offers a USB Type-C port. There is also a gigabit LAN port for the local network with a cable and a 3.5 millimeter jack connection allows the use of wired headphones or speakers. All sockets are on the back.

The Acer Aspire C24-1650 is therefore suitable for anyone who does not want a higher graphics performance can. Anyone who mainly uses Office applications and Internet browsers, but also wants to save large amounts of data, is well advised with this all-in-one PC and does not have to do without a modern design.

For Apple fans: Apple iMac (2021)

With the iMac In 2021 a new design of the all-in-one PC from Apple is finally ready. This impresses with its different colors, which offer the right tone for every taste. But the device itself has also become significantly more compact. Despite the 24-inch screen, the new iMac is only as big as the old 21-inch model. This is due to the thinner frames around the screen. It is also extremely flat at just over one centimeter and therefore does not take up much space. The base is also very small at just 14 centimetres.

    For Apple fans

    Apple iMac 2021 (24-inch)

    All-in-One PC Test: Apple iMac 2021 (24-inch)

    Show all prices

The screen itself displays colors with very good accuracy and offers a strong contrast ratio. The brightness is also sufficiently high so that no annoying reflections occur despite the glossy surface. The resolution of the display is really outstanding. With 4,480 x 2,520 pixels, 4.5K is achieved, which is more than high for the size of 24 inches and makes the content look pin sharp.

However, if you want to connect a second monitor to your iMac, you have to open it resort to adapters. Only two Thunderbolt 3 ports are installed in the basic version, but they can replace all common ports with suitable adapters. Due to the USB-C format of these ports, the supplied USB-C-to-Lightning cable can be plugged in right away. Conventional USB-A ports and monitor connections can also be provided via small docking stations, which you have to buy separately.

You can also use this to implement a network connection, this is the case with the more expensive Apple iMac 2021 but not necessary. This simply has the network port integrated in the external power pack and transmits the data to the computer via the power connection. However, since modern WLAN with the WiFi 6 standard is also on board, a network cable is not absolutely necessary and is therefore not missing from the cheaper model.

Speaking of two models. The cheaper iMac 2021 is equipped with an M1 chip from Apple that can access eight cores for the processor and seven cores for the graphics. This means that the Apple computer is extremely fast and can run many applications and simple games without any problems. It comes with two Thunderbolt 3 ports and is available in four colors. The main memory is limited to 8 gigabytes and the fast SSD can store 256 gigabytes of data and installed applications.

The more expensive version of the iMac 2021 is available in seven colors and also comes with an M1 chip with eight cores , but also has eight cores for graphics. This results in slightly better performance in games and when editing images. Two USB-A ports are now also installed here instead of just two Thunderbolt connections. In addition to the standard combination of 8 gigabytes of working memory and 256 gigabytes of hard disk space, there is also a choice of 16 and 512 gigabytes. However, this increases the price by up to 450 euros.

Since no components can be upgraded later, you should think carefully about how much memory you want before you buy. Compared to previous models, the Apple iMac 2021 has become a little cheaper. The size of 24 inches is exactly between the two 2020 devices with 21.5 and 27 inches. The new iMac is also available with 27 inches, but again with a high surcharge of around 500 euros.

There are only a few points of criticism and these relate to the lack of an upgrade option and the connections provided. A second PC monitor, headphones with a jack plug or USB sticks cannot be connected without an adapter. In addition to the new keyboard with fingerprint sensor and a mouse, at least one USB-C to Lightning cable is included in the scope of delivery. At least the iPhone can be connected to the iMac.

Apple has improved the iMac 2021 all around and is finally bringing a breath of fresh air to its own product range. The colors loosen up the appearance significantly and the M1 chip offers a lot of performance, regardless of the version. A good choice for all Apple fans who were getting bored with the old design.

    Price tip: HP 22-df0004ng

The cheapest alternative to our favorite is the HP 22-df0004ng. The all-in-one PC offers a 21.5-inch display and is therefore well suited for smaller desks. The resolution of 1920×1080 pixels is suitable for Full HD content and is perfectly sufficient for most requirements. The curved shape of the base also creates a modern impression.

    Good & cheap

    HP 22-df0004ng

    Test All-in-One-PC: HP 22- df0004ng

    Show all prices

Despite the low price, HP does not rely on old technology. The built-in AMD Ryzen 3 3250U is a current processor that is also used in notebooks. This not only ensures performance for Windows 10 and all common applications, but also keeps energy consumption low. Word, Excel and PowerPoint run just as easily as an Internet browser – video streaming and simple image editing are also possible. However, the internal Radeon RX Vega 3 graphics unit is only suitable for very simple games from the Windows Store or very old titles.

In addition to the usual equipment with fast WLAN and Bluetooth, the selection of connections is just as varied like our favorite, the Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO A540. All connections are on the back, but are still easy to reach. In addition, HP has also thought of enough space for a DVD burner.

With eight gigabytes of RAM and a 256 gigabyte hard drive, the storage equipment is completely sufficient for a modern PC system. The latter houses the operating system, which starts very quickly due to the fast access times. There is also a normal hard drive with a size of one terabyte for large amounts of data.

The bottom line is that buyers with the HP 22-df0004ng get a very good compromise between price and performance.

    What else is there?

    Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 5

If you are looking for a more powerful alternative to our favorite, you will find it in the Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 5. The CPU of our configuration is a bit weaker than our favorite, but a dedicated graphics card is installed with the GeForce GTX 1650 from NVIDIA. Although it is a bit older, it still copes well with current titles on medium to high settings. Of course, there are also variants with more power, but they are also more expensive. For us, this model offers the best compromise between performance and price. Above all, we like the 27-inch display in combination with the sharp QHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels). In addition to all the typical connections, there is also an SD card reader and a DVD burner on board.

    Dell Inspiron 5400

In the < span rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Dell Inspiron 5400 has a solid i7 processor from Intel and a small GeForce MX330 graphics card. The latter performs a bit better than an integrated graphics chip, which means that 3D games that are a few years old can be played in medium to high resolution. If you only gamble a little, you don’t have to worry about this. The Inspiron 5400 is well equipped for everyday tasks. The connections leave nothing to be desired, WLAN and Bluetooth are up to date and even the small soundbar under the screen is worth listening to. Particularly noteworthy is the fast SSD, which is a bit smaller at 256 gigabytes, but a 1 terabyte HDD hard drive is also installed for large amounts of data. The only thing missing here is an optical drive and the display could be a bit sharper if you take a closer look.

    Asus Zen AiO 24

The Asus Zen AIO 24 has a practical touchscreen, so that operation is also possible without a keyboard and mouse. The fast i7 processor from Intel with eight cores in combination with 16 gigabytes of RAM and the small GeForce MX330 graphics card not only enables work in the office, browsing the Internet, video and image editing and streaming, but also comes with older 3D games rightly so. It is particularly convenient that a USB-A, a USB-C and the headphone connection are on the side and are therefore easier to reach than in many other models that have all the connections on the back. Unfortunately, there is also a disadvantage, because the webcam cannot be retracted. If that doesn’t bother you, the Asus Zen AIO 24 is a well-equipped all-in-one PC.

    Apple iMac 2020

In terms of design, Apple is not daring to do anything new in 2020 either. In return, the performance of the built-in hardware increases and the screen now reflects less strongly if you order the expensive nano-texture surface. This is now also available for the first time on the iMac. Automatic color adjustment via TrueTone is now also finding its way into the Apple all-in-one. The variant presented here comes with an Intel Core i5 processor.

In combination with the AMD Radeon Pro 5300 XT, most everyday tasks can be easily mastered and there are also reserves for more demanding tasks. You don’t have to spend more for an Apple iMac 2020. But if you want more memory, for example, you have to dig much deeper into your pocket.

    HP 24-dp0006ng

The HP 24-dp0006ng is a tip for anyone who needs a lot of storage space, for whom top performance is not that important and who doesn’t want to spend too much money. The processor, a Ryzen 5 4500U, is really fast, but things get a bit cramped when it comes to graphics. The integrated graphics chip needs enough RAM to work, which is at the lower minimum with eight gigabytes. The all-in-one from HP is well equipped for everyday tasks, but you should stay away from games that are not necessarily retro or video editing. The fast 256 gigabyte SSD is complemented by a one terabyte HDD, which offers plenty of space for storing large files.

    MSI Modern AM271P 11M

< p>With the MSI Modern AM271P 11M, you get a 27-inch display on your desk, which unfortunately only has a FullHD resolution. With this display size, the image sharpness is a bit less, but most shouldn’t be particularly bothered by it. The built-in i7-1165G7 processor from Intel offers good performance and is suitable for most tasks with the integrated graphics chip, as long as you don’t play the latest games. The 512 gigabyte SSD offers enough space, whereby an additional hard drive can also be installed later if desired. There are more than enough USB ports with 4x USB-A and 2x USB-C. While the omission of an SD card reader and optical drive is still manageable, the included webcam is an external model. This can be easily removed, but this is not really up-to-date and “modern” with an all-in-on PC.

MSI All in One PRO 24X

There is nothing wrong with the workmanship and design of the MSI PRO 24X. The narrow screen edges and clear edges correspond to a modern design. The base is also impressive and also looks high-quality thanks to the brushed stainless steel. All connections are easy to reach and there are also plenty of them.

With the installed Intel Core i5-10210U, a fast SSD and 8 gigabytes of RAM, the system runs quickly and is suitable for all common office applications. The additional 1 terabyte HDD also provides plenty of space for your own data. Unfortunately, the all-in-one from MSI gets a bit noisy when in use.

    HP 27-dp0007ng

Im HP 27-dp0007ng works the same processor as in our favorite. The AMD Ryzen 5 4500U has a lot of performance and can also run slightly more demanding programs with ease. In combination with the internal AMD RX Vega 6 graphics unit and 8 gigabytes of RAM, the all-in-one is therefore well suited for a wide range of everyday tasks. If you need a lot of storage space, you will also be very satisfied with the combination of 512 gigabyte SSD and 1 terabyte HDD hard drive.

Outwardly, the design of the HP PC corresponds to the current trend and is modern and simple . The loudspeakers, which are well suited for occasional use, are located directly under the Full HD screen. The display is bright and shows content sharply and with good colors. The HP 27-dp0007ng thus offers not only modern hardware but also a modern appearance. However, you have to do without a DVD burner.

    Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO A540

The Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO A540 comes with an elegant design and fits well into any work environment. In addition, the housing is of high quality, so that occasional changes of location are not a problem. The supplied input devices are also suitable for those who write a lot and are connected wirelessly to the PC.

Lenovo is breaking new ground with the design, but sticking to a modern and frameless design. A current ninth-generation Intel Core i5 processor works inside, which, in combination with a fast SSD, ensures a very quickly running system. Loading times are a thing of the past. Games can also be run with the additional AMD graphics card, although current titles only run in lower detail levels.

In addition to connections for USB devices and a second monitor, Lenovo also installs relatively good speakers from JBL and a webcam in the IdeaCentre AIO A540. If you don’t need the latter, you can order the all-in-one PC from Lenovo without a camera. For hobbyists, there is also the option of upgrading the RAM and installing a second hard drive.

    MSI Pro 22X 9M-080XEU

This All -in-One is slightly smaller than other PCs presented here. With a size of only 21.5 inches, the screen of the MSI Pro 22X 9M is quite small, but it can still be used for working. The ports on the left are particularly practical, and they also have a modern USB Type-C port and the memory card reader. Devices that don’t need to be plugged in and unplugged as often can be plugged in at the back. There you will also find a relic from earlier days of PCs that is very rarely encountered today: the serial interface is almost extinct and is no longer needed by normal users. But if you still use a very old device at home, you can continue to use it.

The built-in hardware is not high-end, but corresponds to that of a mid-range PC. The Intel Core i3-9100 masters office tasks without difficulty, and eight gigabytes of RAM and the fast SSD with 512 gigabytes of storage space support brisk system operation. If you would like to play on the PC, you are in the wrong place here. The internal graphics unit can only display simple games from the Windows Store smoothly.

    Acer Aspire C24-960

The Acer Aspire C24-960 meets the minimum requirements of an all-in-one PC. With its Intel Core i3 processor, 8 gigabytes of RAM and a small 256 gigabyte SSD, it is now a bit weak in terms of performance. It still does justice to typical everyday requirements, as long as games and video editing are not included. If you want to be on the safe side, you can use a more up-to-date model, like our »Also good« recommendation, the Acer Aspire C24-1650.

    Fujitsu Esprimo K558

With the Esprimo K558, Fujitsu focuses on one only model and offers its all-in-one PC as a comprehensive office solution. The design is designed for productivity, so that connections for USB and audio devices are also available on the front. The hardware is state-of-the-art with an Intel Core i7 CPU of the eighth generation and both the fast SSD with 512 gigabytes of storage space and the 16 gigabytes of RAM ensure smooth system operation. There are more connections on the back, which are sufficient for most office environments.

The Japanese manufacturer has always attached greater importance to maintenance options and functionality in its IT devices, which is why the design is a bit simpler. Instead, components such as RAM and hard drives can be exchanged, which is not the case with many all-in-one PCs. The Fujitsu Esprimo K558 is therefore suitable for anyone who prefers functionality and performance to a chic design.

    Apple iMac Pro

Apple is aimed with the Apple iMac Pro to professional image and video editors. The 5K retina display is correspondingly high quality, with which colors are very realistic and content is displayed in an extremely high resolution. The 27-inch screen offers a display that is large enough to display even the smallest detail.

But a lot of graphics also need a lot of power, so Apple already packs the basic version, which costs almost 5,000 euros, to the brim with more powerful ones Hardware. The Intel Xeon processor with its eight cores is supported by a whopping 32 gigabytes of RAM. So that neither the storage space nor the speed have to suffer, users have a one-terabyte SSD at their disposal. There is also a powerful AMD graphics card.

With four Thunderbolt 3 ports, the iMac Pro offers a very modern range of connections, with conventional USB ports and gigabit LAN also being available. However, there is no HDMI connection or DisplayPort, although these can be replicated with Thunderbolt adapters.

As already mentioned, this entry-level variant costs just under 5,000 euros. In the configuration with the highest expansion level, however, more than 15,000 euros are possible, which are due for an Apple iMac Pro.

    The most important questions

What distinguishes an all-in-one from a normal PC?

An all-in-one PC contains everything you need to work. The screen does not have to be connected to a tower, but also houses all the other technology. Only one power cable has to be connected and the keyboard, mouse and printer are plugged directly into the screen. WLAN and loudspeakers are also integrated.

What does an all-in-one PC need to be able to do?

An all-in-one PC does not replace a gaming PC, but it should be everything from Office programs via Internet browsers to media consumption. Editing photos is also not a problem with most models. If you want to play games, you can also do this with older and simple titles, depending on the model. But modern blockbuster games run rather poorly or not at all.

How expensive is an all-in-one PC?

It depends on the equipment. A simple all-in-one PC, which is mainly used for office work and browsing the Internet, is already available for around 600 euros. However, if the quality of the device and the performance should be a little higher, all-in-one PCs for around 1,000 euros are recommended.

Can an all-in-one PC be upgraded?

In most cases, an all-in-one PC can only be upgraded to a limited extent. However, some models also allow the hard drive to be replaced or the RAM to be expanded. In the case of Apple’s iMacs, subsequent expansion is not intended at all, but this is also not possible with some Windows All-in-One PCs. The processor and graphics card are also usually permanently installed and can therefore not be exchanged.
