Black Friday iPad deals for 2021 are now over, so we’re looking ahead to Black Friday 2022.

You are watching: ipad mini black friday 2021

This year’s Black Friday iPad deals have officially finished. Black Friday 2022 doesn’t start until November 25, but there are still plenty of discounts to be found now. We’ve got today’s lowest prices below, and we’re expecting more offers in the Boxing Day sales (or after Christmas sales if you’re in the US).

Stay tuned for our pro predictions for the best Black Friday iPad deals in 2022 – they’ll be coming in the new year. In the meantime, here’s a recap of what happened this year.

We didn’t see many mindblowing deals on iPads over Black Friday 2021. We saw some solid deals with the iPad Pro getting the biggest percentage discount, and a few slight price drops on the iPad Air 4 and iPad mini 2021.

Unlike previous Black Fridays, the standard iPad model didn’t get any big discounts over Black Friday 2021. Instead, most of the deals were with the most expensive products in Apple’s line of tablets.

Looking to buy a new iPad today? We’ve got a selection of the best deals right now, and below that you’ll find our top choices from the last Black Friday that may give you an idea of what to expect in 2022.

Today’s best iPad deals in the US

Apple iPad 10.2 (9th Gen, 64GB): $329.99 at Best Buy
We saw a small $30 price cut on the latest iPad 10.2 shortly after it launched, but due to the stock issues, those early offers have now vanished. Still, if you want to buy the new iPad, stock will be available for delivery in the new year at Best Buy – but you need to pay full price.

Apple iPad mini 6 (256GB): $499.99 at Amazon
Stock issues have finally caught up to the iPad Mini and it’s now back up to full price at Amazon. A $40 saving was available for a number of weeks but that’s vanished with stock levels slowly dwindling. Perhaps it will return in the new year once the tiny tablet is more widely available again. As soon as it does, we’ll be here to update this page.

iPad Air 4 (64GB): $599 $539 at Walmart
Save $60
– The iPad Air was reduced by a massive $110 back in November at Amazon and has been impossible to find reduced ever since. Walmart has now taken $60 off the Apple tablet, which is a decent saving – especially with all the stock issues we’re seeing at other retailers.

iPad Pro 11-inch 2021 (128GB): $799 $749 at Amazon
Save $50
– The brand new iPad Pro is back to $749 again at Amazon after selling out a few weeks ago. This is still $50 more than the lowest ever price we saw a whopping five months ago but stock issues have caused prices to remain flat for a while now.

iPad Pro 12.9-inch 2021 (256GB): $1,199 $1,079 at Amazon
Save $120 –
This isn’t the lowest price we’ve ever seen for the 12.9-inch 2021 iPad Pro, but given how the tablet is out of stock everywhere else right now it’s the best offer today. The $120 saving off the regular price is still decent for the high-end tablet so one to go for if you don’t want to get caught out by stock issues and are fine with waiting until the new year for delivery.

Today’s best iPad deals in the UK

iPad 9th generation (64GB): £319 at Amazon
Now that stock of the last generation iPad has dried up at all major stores your best option is to go for the brand new iPad 10.2. Last year’s model had only been discounted to £299, so spending an extra £20 to get the brand new seems well worth it anyway – but you will have to wait until next year for delivery.

Apple iPad mini 6 (2021): £479 £459 at Amazon
Save £20
– A tiny £20 saving is available on the new iPad mini at Amazon. Sure, it’s not one of the most thrilling iPad deals we’ve ever seen but we’ll take any discount at this stage as the new model has been available for just a couple of months. Place your order now and it will be delivered once stock is available.

iPad Air 4 (64GB): £579 at Amazon
Just last week it was possible to find a £50 saving on the iPad Air but that deal has since expired. The tablet was out of stock for a brief window in November and Amazon is taking orders for delivery at a later and unspecified date. This also looks like a classic case of a price bump following Black Friday. We’ll keep an eye on it over the next few weeks just in case the price drop returns here or at another retailer.

iPad Pro 11-inch 2021 (128GB): £749 at Amazon
A small saving of less than £30 is no longer available on the 11-inch iPad Pro at Amazon. Savings on the latest model were already exceedingly rare, so this may have just been pulled for the Christmas period and with a lack of stock following Black Friday. Here’s hoping for a return in the new year.

iPad Pro 12.9-inch 2021 (128GB): £999 £958 at Amazon
Save £40 – Amazon had a solid £100 saving on the larger iPad Pro model just last week. That offer is now gone, sadly, but you can still get a £40 saving. It doesn’t exactly make the iPad cheap, but it’s the only discount should you be after this model. It’s a significant one, too, considering this Pro model rarely drops below the recommended price of £999. You could wait off until the new year to see if the old saving returns.

Top US iPad Black Friday deals from last year

Apple iPad Pro 11 2021 (128GB, Wi-Fi): $799 $749.99 at Amazon
Save $50 –
It’s not a huge price cut, but this discount from Amazon is the cheapest price around for the iPad Pro 11. Technically it’s sold out, but Amazon claims more stock will be available soon, so we’d definitely pick this one up sooner rather than later if you’re interested. If you’re looking for a powerful tablet for design work you won’t beat this model – although some would say it’s overkill for the majority of casual applications.
512GB: $1,099.99 $979 at Walmart
1TB:
$1,499 $1,399.99 at Amazon

Apple iPad Pro 11 2021 (128GB, Wi-Fi + cellular): $999.99 $949.99 at Best Buy
Save $50 –
If you need mobile connectivity on your iPad, you can also get the same $50 discount on your tablet here. Everything else is the same as the product above, but it allows you to install a SIM card to make the most of mobile internet.
256GB: $1,099.99 $1,049.99 at Best Buy
512GB: $1,299.99 $1,249.99 at Best Buy

iPad Air 2020 (64GB, Wi-Fi): $599 $539 at Walmart
Save $60 –
There aren’t huge savings on the iPad Air 2020, but if you’re after this product this is the best price we’ve found so far in the US over the Black Friday period. We’ve seen in drop lower in the past, so you may want to wait and see if any retailers will drop it lower over the coming days.

Not in stock at Walmart? B&H Video has a deal for this tablet at $579

iPad Air 2020 (64GB, Wi-Fi + cellular): $729 $689 at Amazon
Save $40 –
You can save a touch more, if you opt for the variant with cellular connectivity. That’s a saving of $40, but it isn’t a cheap product.  It was originally more expensive to buy one that can do mobile internet, so it may not be suitable for everyone. Note – this price is only on the Space Gray color at the moment.
256GB: $879 $849 at B&H Photo

Apple US Black Friday Shopping Event
Free Gift Card – Apple’s four-day Black Friday and Cyber Monday Shopping Event runs from November 26 through November 29, and gives you the chance to bag a $50 card when you buy either an Apple Watch SE or Series 3. While not a huge price cut, this is a good option if you’re thinking about picking up some accessories. The bad news? This doesn’t apply to the Apple Watch 7, sorry folks.

Apple iPad mini (2021): $499 at Amazon
All 2021 iPad mini colors are back in stock at Amazon this week – although there’s no price cut on the menu just yet. If you’re looking to pick up the latest (and smallest) device in the range, this is currently the cheapest price on the market. While diminutive, this one’s a great choice if you’re wanting something with a bit more power than the usual 10.2 iPad.

Apple iPad 10.2 (64GB): $329 at Adorama
The standard latest 10.2 iPad is selling like hotcakes right now across the board. In fact, it’s out of stock at nearly every major online retailer in the US. We’re not expecting any Black Friday iPad deals on this model at this rate, but we can tell you that Adorama still has a few if you’re interested. Both colors are in stock right now on the more popular 64GB model, so this is your best bet if you’re dead-set on getting this cheaper model.

Apple Pencil 2: $129 $99 at Amazon
Save $22 on the Apple Pencil 2 with this 18% off early Black Friday deal at Amazon. This gets you the second generation Apple stylus, which works with newer iPads only, but packs additional features like magnetic attachment and wireless charging.

Apple Pencil 1: $99 $79.99 at Amazon
Save $20 on the Apple Pencil 1 with this 20% off early Black Friday deal at Amazon. This gets you the first generation Apple stylus, which works great with older iPads (and newer ones, too).

Apple Magic Keyboard for 12.9-inch: $349 $199 at Best Buy
Save $150 – The Apple Magic keyboard for the 2018 and 2020 iPad Pro 12.9-inch is now discounted at Best Buy with a drop of $150. If you’re looking for a top-end keyboard, this could be the right deal for you but it isn’t compatible with the 2021 edition.

Top UK iPad Black Friday deals from last year

iPad Pro 12.9-inch 2021 (128GB, Wi-Fi): £999 £929 at Amazon
Save £70 –
Here’s a great Black Friday iPad deal on the latest 2021 iPad Pro 12.9, all things considered. It might not seem like a wild discount, but it’s actually the cheapest price yet and really quite good considering this device is only a few months old as of writing. With a fantastic display and the incredible level of power the latest M1 chip affords, this one’s an easy recommendation if you’re looking for something truly premium.
256GB: £1,099 £1,049 at Amazon
512GB: £1,299 £1,149 at Amazon
2TB:
£1,999 £1,914.82 at Amazon

Apple iPad Pro 11 2021 (2TB, Wi-Fi + cellular): £1,899 £1,506.36 at Amazon
Save £393 –
This is an incredible saving, but we have previously seen it even lower with over £500 off. Only consider this if you need an absolute ton of space on your iPad. This variant comes with mobile connectivity and 2TB of storage, so that’s why it’s expensive, but this is a big discount if it’s the one you’re looking for.

iPad Air 2020 (64GB, Wi-Fi + cellular): £709 £599 at Amazon
Save £110 –
If you’d like access to the internet from anywhere on your iPad Air 4, this is the deal to go for right now with a discount of £110. We may see more when Black Friday properly arrives, but this is still a good saving on a top variant of the iPad Air 2020.

iPad Air 2020 (256GB, Wi-Fi): £729 £689.97 at Amazon
Save £39.03 –
While almost £40 off a year-old tablet isn’t anything huge to write home about, this is still the best price right now for the 256GB iPad Air 4. We gave this tablet a 4.5 star review citing its power, screen and the adventurous color choices as some of the main reasons to buy.

iPad mini 2021 (64GB, Wi-Fi): £479 £459 at Amazon
Save £20 –
This is the best deal for the iPad mini right now and people have obviously taken to it as the slate is temporarily out of stock, but Amazon will still let you place an order, you just might have to wait a bit longer to get it.
256GB: £619 £599 at Amazon

Apple UK Black Friday Shopping Event
Free Gift Card – Apple’s four-day Black Friday and Cyber Monday Shopping Event runs from November 26 through November 29, and gives you the chance to bag an £80 gift card. This is only valid on the iPad Pro 11-inch and iPad Pro 12.9-inch, and it’ll be perfect for picking up some accessories to go with your new tablet.

Apple Pencil 2: £119 £99 at Amazon
Save £19 –
The Apple Pencil 2 is discounted this Black Friday by £20, and we’re not expecting to see many bigger discounts during the big sales event. Before you buy this, make sure it’s compatible with your iPad (and if it’s not, the version below may be for you).

Apple Pencil 1: £89 £74 at John Lewis
Save £15 – The Apple Pencil is now properly discounted in the UK with a saving of £15 at John Lewis right now. This is for the original Apple Pencil, so make sure it’s compatible with your iPad and you’ll want to grab this before Cyber Monday ends.

Should you buy an iPad before Black Friday?

Tough call, but we say yes if you spot a price cut to your liking. Popular items like iPads are always in danger of selling out over Black Friday and doubly so this year. For context, the new 2021 iPad Pro sold out in hours when Amazon recently discounted it by $100 in early November – a price that was at the time the lowest yet from the retailer.

The standard 2021 iPad 10.2 is also on backorder right now at Apple US until an eye-watering December 6th at the earliest – a date after Black Friday and Cyber Monday this year. In short, it’s a good idea to get that order in sooner rather than later.

Here’s a quick and dirty price guide for the current iPad range, as well as the record low prices so far and what we judge to be their ‘popularity’ based on how often we’ve seen these devices sell out at leading retailers. It’s a pretty unscientific measure but we’re using it as an indicator for determining how likely a model is to sell out either on or before Black Friday.

One quick caveat. In general, UK retailers tend to be a little better stocked when it comes to iPad deals right now, so your mileage could vary a bit in this region. UK retailers have also been a little slower off the mark in regards to offering up early Black Friday sales, so it could be the best prices are still yet to come.

Black Friday iPad Deals: FAQ

When will the best Black Friday iPad deals begin in 2021?

November 26th is the official kick-off date for this year’s Black Friday iPad deals but we’ve already seen a ton of great price cuts. Best Buy, Walmart, and Amazon have all already started their ‘Holiday deals’ season and that’s included some small discounts on iPads.

The new iPad Pro in particular was at its lowest price yet at Amazon US recently, and the iPad Air 4 has also received a healthy discount. The burning question here is – are the current crop of early Black Friday deals going to be the best prices this year, or will they get better? In our eyes, it depends on stock levels. We’ve seen several models sell out at some retailers already so it could be they’re actually all gone by Black Friday.

Black Friday iPad deals: top tips

When it comes to finding the best Black Friday iPad deal, we’ve got a few top tips to follow to ensure you get the right product for the right price. Read through these in the run-up to the sales so you’re ready to go as soon as that first offer arrives.

1. Research, research, research
Black Friday iPad deals are always popular – every year, in fact. With hot ticket items over the Holiday sales period it always pays to know exactly what you want and what you’re looking for before you go in. That means researching which model’s best for your needs (check out our handy guide just below), knowing generally how much it sells for at leading retailers, and also knowing what your alternative options are. By doing a little bit of research you’ll be able to spot the good Black Friday iPad deals from the bad, as well as save precious time on the day.

2. Consider buying early
This year we’re seeing a ton of empty shelves at leading retailers. It’s not just iPads either, according to a report by Adobe the number of out-of-stock items is up a whopping 172% versus pre-pandemic levels – a statistic that doesn’t bode well for the shopping season this November. If you spot a discount on a model you want, we’d advocate potentially buying early, even if it’s not the lowest price we’ve ever seen on that model.

3. Be prepared for alternatives
Following on from our previous advice, we’d recommend considering alternatives if you do find your iPad of choice sold out over Black Friday. For example, that iPad 10.2 might be out of stock but perhaps you can make that budget stretch to a mid-range iPad Air 4. Even better still are the number of Black Friday tablet deals that we could see on other brands like Samsung, Amazon, and Lenovo. Sure, they aren’t Apple but they’ll definitely be a lot more available this year.

Which iPad is best for me?

  • Apple iPad 10.2: a great all-rounder for those on a budget
  • Apple iPad Air: a mid-range, super-slim premium tablet
  • Apple iPad Pro: incredibly powerful with lush screens, but pricey
  • Apple iPad mini: small 8-inch screen, more powerful than the 10.2

The latest 2021 Apple iPad 10.2 is a great place to start if you’re looking to get that iOS tablet experience without breaking the bank. It doesn’t have the brightest screen, the slimmest build, or the most powerful processor, but it’s exceptional value and more than enough for most people.

For something a bit more premium, consider the new Apple iPad Air and iPad mini. Both these tablets feature very powerful chips, a lovely squared-off design (very similar to the iPhone 13), and better screens than the standard 10.2 iPad. In short, they’re your mid-range picks – for those who want something a bit special but don’t quite want to fork out the huge amounts for the iPad Pro range.

Speaking of which, if you’ll only settle for the best of the best, the latest 2021 iPad Pro 11 and 12.9-inch tablets offer pretty much the most powerful tablets on the market. They not only look fantastic with their XDR retina displays (amazing for design work and media), but the M1 chip inside affords them near-MacBook levels of power.

Which iPad will have the best deals over Black Friday 2021?

We’re recommending you keep your eyes on the iPad Air 4 and the iPad Pro this year. The former is looking likely to drop to a price that might only be $100 / £100 more than a 10.2-inch 2021 device, while the latter (if following the same pattern as 2020) looks set to get some of the best discounts yet.

If you’re drawn towards the newer devices, the good news and that we’re fully expecting discounts on both the latest iPad 10.2 and iPad Mini versions. Both of these devices were given small price cuts in the pre-order phase, so retailers should at least repeat these for Black Friday.

More specifically, then, look for at least $30 off the iPad 10.2 as this was the reduction at Walmart before the device launched. For the iPad Mini, the key price to keep in mind is $459. It was given this $39 discount at Amazon prior to launch. There was nothing similar available in the UK but there should still be an offer or two to be found come November.

You’ll find more information on the prospects of 2021’s Black Friday iPad deals on each model just below.

Last year’s best iPad Black Friday deals

One of the best ways to predict what will happen in 2021 is to look back at last year’s best iPad Black Friday deals. Here’s what we saw across both the US and the UK.

Some of the highlights included record low prices on the entry-level 10.2-inch iPad, which was especially impressive considering Apple’s cheapest device was merely weeks old. Something similar on the new iPad this year, maybe?

Black Friday iPad deals in the US

2020 Apple iPad 10.2-inch – 32GB: $329.99 $279.99 at Best Buy
This is the best price we’ve ever seen on last year’s standard iPad, and with a $50 discount this was the cheapest we saw it last Black Friday. This deal ran out extremely quickly, while Amazon was still offering a $299 sales price though.

2020 Apple iPad 10.2-inch – 128GB: $429 $359.99 at Best Buy
Need more storage from your iPad? You could get $70 off the top storage 128GB iPad 10.2-inch from Best Buy. This is a significant discount, and was the best price we’ve seen so far for a fantastic iPad.

2020 iPad Air – 64GB: $599 $569.99 at Amazon
Stock moved fast on these discounts on the iPad Air 4, which were particularly early considering this was such a new release at the time. This was an excellent discount on the latest iPad to hit the market – if you could grab it in time – but we’ve since seen it drop down to $559.

2019 iPad Air – 256GB: $649.99 $549.99 at Best Buy
The previous generation iPad Air was seeing some discounts over at Best Buy as well, now that the brand new model was making itself at home on Apple’s shelves. That means you could save on a good 256GB of storage – plenty for more demanding apps and games.

iPad Pro 12.9-inch (WiFi + Cellular, 64GB, 2018): $1,149 $799 at B&H Photo
B&H Photo offered some excellent Black Friday iPad deals on the previous generation of iPad Pros last year. Savings were available all the way up to 1TB of storage space, but prices fluctuated over the course of the weekend.

iPad Pro 12.9-inch (WiFi + Cellular, 256GB, 2018) + Magic Keyboard: $1,648 $1,249 at B&H Photo
You could also grab a 2018 iPad Pro with a Magic Keyboard included for $1,278 in B&H Photo’s Black Friday iPad deals. There’s 256GB of storage in here – plenty of space for all your schoolwork with enough to spare for games and streaming.

iPad Pro 11-inch (128GB, 2020): $799 $749 at Amazon
The most portable iPad Pro comes with Apple’s super-fast A12Z Bionic CPU and all the same specs as the larger 12.9-inch version, but it’s cheaper if you don’t need the larger Retina display. 128GB is enough storage for working, streaming, and gaming on the move – and with a $50 discount it’s currently cheaper than ever. There were also bigger configurations on sale at Amazon too.

iPad Pro 12.9-inch (128GB, 2020): $999 $934.92 at Amazon
The newest iPad Pro sports a stunning 12.9-inch edge-to-edge Liquid Retina display, and the fastest processor you’ll find in any tablet – and it was $70 less than usual at Amazon. The 128GB configuration is the cheapest version of this device, but if you wanted more storage, there were savings on all versions of Apple’s premium tablet available.

$100 gift card with iPad Pro purchases from Apple
If you prefer to shop with Apple, you could get $100 in a gift card on certain iPad Pro purchases. If you were after something a bit smaller, you can also get $50 gift card when you bought the iPad mini as well.

Apple Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro 12.9-inch: $349 $329 at Amazon
It was only $20 off, but the Magic Keyboard is a premium accessory for the iPad Pro – it costs more than the standard 2020 iPad after all. This was the first time we’ve seen that $349 price waver (though we’ve since seen more price drops) so if you were looking to use your tablet as a laptop it was worth checking out.

Black Friday iPad deals in the UK

Apple iPad Mini 5 – 64GB: £399 £377 at Currys
You could save £20 on the iPad Mini 5 at Currys in the UK’s Black Friday iPad deals. We had seen a lower price last year, however, when this model dropped to £349. There was only £30 in it, though, and we hadn’t seen that price in a long time now.

Apple iPad Air 3 | 64GB | Wi-Fi: £469 £399 at Currys (save £70)
This excellent deal saved you £70 on 2019’s iPad Air 3, which has a 10.5-inch Retina display and a ten-hour battery life. Its power and new low price make it ideal for students who want a 2-in-1 tablet or those who want a tablet for computing and entertainment.

iPad Air 3 – save up to £150 when trading in an old iPad at John Lewis
If you were looking to upgrade a super old device, you could save up to £150 when you trade in your existing iPad at John Lewis. This offer stood on the iPad Air 3 and iPad Mini 5 as well.

Apple iPad Air 4 (2020, 64GB): £709£679.97 at Amazon
This was the first price cut we had seen on the brand new 2020 Apple iPad Air 4. This one moved fast, though, selling out pretty quickly on the big day itself.

2020 iPad Pro 11-inch – 128GB: £769 £706.70 at Amazon
The 2020 11-inch iPad Pro was available for £706 at Amazon. That’s a price drop of over £50, and near the lowest price we’d ever seen for this model.

2020 iPad Pro 11-inch – 256GB: £869 £816 at John Lewis
Save £53 –
John Lewis price matched the 256GB 11-inch iPad Pro in its Black Friday iPad deals last year, and offered a two year guarantee included in this price, making for extra peace of mind on top of the discount.

2020 iPad Pro 12.9-inch – 128GB: £969 £895.69 at Amazon
This wasn’t a record low price on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. We’d seen this price flopping over the last few days, though, so be quick to grab it before it rises again.

£80 gift card with iPad Pro purchases from Apple
If you prefer to shop with Apple, you could also get £80 in a gift card on certain iPad Pro purchases. If you’re after something a bit smaller, you could also get £40 gift card when you buy the iPad Mini.

Apple Pencil 2nd generation: £119 £103.59 at Amazon
If you’re using an iPad Pro you’ll want to grab the second generation Apple Pencil to make the most of the incredible hand drawing and writing experience on Apple’s most powerful tablet. Discounts on this peripheral are extremely rare, so many made the most of this offer no matter how little the saving.

Apple Smart Keyboard for 12.9-inch iPad Pro: £199 £187.49 at Amazon
There wasn’t a massive discount on this Apple Smart Keyboard, but it was the first time we’d seen the new iPad Pro accessory taking a price cut. It’s rare to find offers on these premium peripherals as well, so if you were looking to use your iPad for writing it was worth grabbing this while you could save some change.

That should cover everything you need to know right now. As more information about this year’s Black Friday iPad deals comes to light we’ll be sure to return to update this page.
